Lots has been said about Matt Cutts how to report paid links. As usual the vast majority of what has been stated in most webmaster forums is poorly thought out and irrelevant to the issues that google are trying to face.
Lets look at the basics for a moment. As part of a continuous job of improving the quality of its search results Cutts has indicated that he is looking for examples of sites that clearly sell links to test against the algo.
I’m excited about trying some ideas here at Google to augment our existing algorithms.
A lot of unpleasantness could have been saved by simple spending some of googles resources to find some link selling networks (it really does not take very long!) rather than asking webmasters to tell tales …

With the start of the new year comes a fresh set of rankings for the google toolbar pagerank. While this was stated to have started on or about the 11th of January according to Matt Cutts. As always, there is quite a bit of buzz going on: you can’t hardly visit a webmaster forum without a long discussion about the pagerank update. Check out webmaster world (you must be a registered user to view - if you’re not registered, you should!), digital point forums and wembaster-talk only to name a few.
The good thing, for me, anyway is that I appear to have a current pagerank 0 site that might shoot up to a pagerank 4 according to the live pagerank checker - at least it’s showing a PR 4 for many of the datacenters listed on that page.
Anyone else expecting a big jump in pagerank for their website during this update?
