The role of keyword proximity in seo
Up until a couple of days ago I had never heard the term ‘keyword proximity’ before, at least to my recollection. I was out doing some brainstorming in the solitude of a frozen over community park and the phrase just popped into my head. I wrote the phrase down & came back home to my computer - lo and behold, it’s a real seo method.
Now, this will not likely come as a surprise to professional seo’s: it may be useful info for the self-taught, “hobbyist” webmasters/web developers, such as myself. While I had never heard the term before: I use the keyword proximity method frequently; only I never realized there was a science, methodology, or even an actual phrase behind it.
Keyword proximity is exactly what it sounds like - how close your target keywords are together. As an example: If your target keywords are “webmaster tips” - you would, theoretically, rank higher for:
…Webmaster tips website will help you to improve your search engine rankings. . .
than this sentence:
…Get valuable tips from a full time webmaster…
Of course other on page / off page optimization methods would come into place in order for you to rank for your intended keywords - but this is just another seo that you can use to increase your search engine rankings for your intended keywords & phrases. The keyword proximity method can be applied to both on page and off page optimization campaigns.
